Happy Birthday Cole

Today my little guy turns 5, I can't believe he is growing up so fast and going to go to school this year... WOW! Just a few of the things I love about this little guy...
1- He can be so trying one minute and then right when you are at your wits end with him he turns into this little sweetheart....
2- He loves his baby brother so much, and is so good to him most days. (I wish some of this love could be shown to his older brother, I can wish right).
3- His comebacks just crack me up...
4- His love of strawberries makes me laugh, and when he gets them he is so possessive of them. :) (I guess not being able to eat them for years, he has to make up lost time)
5- His smile, melts my heart.
6- He is such a big helper, he is my one child I usually only have to ask once to do something, love that about him.
7- His inquisitiveness, makes me laugh some days to hear him and his non stop chatter of questions.
8- I love watching him ride his bike, he seems so little to be racing around on 2 wheels.
9- I love listening to him play when he doesn't think I am listening, makes me smile/laugh. :)
10- His ability to finally write his name, writing it everywhere... windows, paper, cupboards, car, table.... Oh just gotta love it... :)
Love this kid, he brings so much joy and laughter to our family... There is never a dull moment at our house... Love ya Cole!!!

Boys...

Some days boys are fiesty and some days they are so darn cute. After not leaving my side for a week, (Troy was out of town and he was having some issues) Cole finally decided to break down and play with his toys . After playing quietly for some time, he came and got me to show me his race track. He was so proud of his "track" aka my bed, he had to show it off. He must have raced his cars around it for hours. I was just glad to have him finally play with something and not glued to my side. Gotta love those energetic, rambunctious boys!

We had Stockton's Blue & Gold Banquet last night, where they served rice and chow main, (you know things kids just love:) and then everyone brought a dessert. Well someone really nice brought some chocolate dipped strawberries and Jaden was insisting he have one, so instead of making him scream I gave in. This was his reaction...

He was a mess, but man did he enjoy that strawberry. Too fun...

Sky High

We took the kids to this place, full of different blow up toys, slides, bouncers, obstacle courses etc.... Fun way for them to burn off a lot of energy and stay warm.

My Sweetie...

Since its Valentines Day I thought I would share a few things that I love about Troy.
1- He is so handsome, and he still makes my tummy do flip flops and my heart skip a beat.... :)
2- His huge heart, Troy would do anything for anyone and I love that about him.
3- His sincere love for family, I have never seen him put himself before me or the kids.
4- His amazing ability to put up with me, always willing to help me out anyway he can, even though there are times he doesn't want too. I wish I was more like him.
5- He works an incredible amount of hours to provide for our family, so I can be home with the kids, and I don't say it enough, but I am truly blessed for this.
6- He is a great example to my kids, teaching them how to treat your spouse and your parents with love and respect.
7- He is an amazing dad, sometimes I think he just one of the kids. My kids are very blessed to have him as their dad.
8- Watching the kids so I can have a break, honey do lists, eating my cooking and never complaining about any of it. :)
9- His sweet little "I love you" texts, they seem to come when I need them most.
10- His awesome handyman skills. We just finished up some remodeling and shifting kids around, and he was just amazing, (of course when you build your own house this was probably childs play for him).
11- The wonderful spirit and peace he brings to our home.
12- His intelligence, I hope the kids inherit this from him. :)

These are just a few (in no particular order) of the many many reasons I love this guy.
Love ya sweetie and thanks for the best 15 years ever!

Hannah Montana

After weeks and weeks of anticipation for the 3-D movie, the day finally arrived for us to go. A night out with some good friends of ours, Courtnee and I had a great time. A yummy dinner at La Luna, and off to the movie. We had a bit of a delay, waiting for the projector to be fixed, but then we were off into Hannah Montana 3-D mode. It was fun to see, even with hundreds of screaming girls. Oh to be 11 again. :) It brought me back to the days of Tiffany, Debbie Gibson, Madonna and how happy I was to get my very first Sylvia record (makes me feel old saying that). Its funny to see the styles that were "in" when I was a kid are starting to creep back into existance. :) Fun times, great memories...

Gratitude Journals

I saw this idea on Lisa Bearnson's website, making gratitude journals, and decided to make these with my 8 year old activity day girls. We talked about being grateful for all we have and decided to write down a few things a day that we are thankful for. I had tons of paper donated to me by my sister Nancy's sister in law, (an amazing amount of fun girly paper), and decided this was a perfect use for it. The girls had so much fun doing these, it's funny how they all started with the same paper, same book and yet they all turned out so different. We also included this wonderful quote.

"As you start to write, you could ask yourself 'How did God bless me today?'" If you do that long enough and with faith, you will find yourself remembering blessings. And sometimes you will have gifts brought to your mind which you failed to notice during the day, but which you will then know were a touch of God's hand in your life. Preserve [these memories] for the day that [you] and those you love will need to remember how much God loves [you] and how much [you] need Him." Henry B. Eyring

I even decided to make me one, and I am going to try to write in it everyday. I started mine Saturday and this was my list.

1- A new year, a fresh start
2- My kids friends
3- Being able to wash my car (no snow for a few days)
4- Diet coke, some days makes a bad day better
5- Home movies, love having a glimpse into the past :)
6- Stockton's new teacher, looking forward to meeting her

I am thankful that someone was able to share this idea, so we could enjoy it too.

Happy 2008

Just thought I would share a few things I am going to try and be better at for the new year.
1- To be a better mom(I promise to try), friend, sister, daughter and wife.
2- To be more of a positive person, to see the positive side of things and not dwell on the negative.
3- Become more in tune with my spiritual side. :)
4- Take more pictures with my kids; actually be in a few.
5- Be happy with everything I have already been blessed with, and focus less on what I don't have.
Wish me luck. :)
