School is out!!!

Another end to a great school year. So proud of the kids this year.. Cole did so good all year with his grades and his anxiety. He earned his Coyote Pride medallion and also got a medal for Leadership in his class. I missed his awards assembly, as I was at Courtnee's but a friend took some pictures of Cole, so I will post them as soon as I get them..  Stockton managed two 4.0's this year with the other two 3.9's.. Courtnee had an award assembly as she is leaving Middle School and heading to High School (gasp.) She was awesome this year and her three years in Middle School. She received an award for pulling a 4.0 all three years of Middle School, which was only given to eleven students. She also got an award for 4.0 all of this year.. And last was awarded Student of the Year in Language Arts.. So so proud of the kiddos..

Triple Crown... :(

Miss Courtnee was telling me she was supposed to receive an award at school next week, but DOES NOT WANT IT... The award (The Triple Crown) is for keeping a 4.0, no absences, and all H's... She would get the award, her picture hung in the hall and recognized in front of the entire school... A mothers dream, YES!!! A daughters nightmare... Why you ask, she will have the mark "nerd" on her back... Yes even from her friends... My heart nearly broke when she told me this... I so want her to receive the recognition she deserves, but I don't want her teased relentlessly at school either... Bittersweet... :(

The Capital...

So excited for this post... A few weeks ago I received a phone call from Stockton's principal.. She proceeded to tell me that his school was one of a few schools in our area selected to go to the Capital and have lunch with a State Representative.. From their school only 2 students were selected to go, and they had chose Stockton as one of them.. I was elated... I got special permission to go with him, and the other girl (named Courtnee, weird huh) and her Mom... What an amazing experience.. I learned so much, and was so intrigued, I want to learn more... Here are some pictures of our amazing day... Thanks mom for watching the boys, so I could experience this with Stockton.. :)

This is called the Gold Room, nothing really happens here, just a pretty room.. Although where the flags are, is usually where they do stuff on TV... :)

Me, Stockton, Diana and Courtnee standing on the amazing staircase.. :)

The amazing artwork.. I think the ceiling here was like 195 feet up.. Simply breathtaking.. :)

A different view from the 3rd floor..

I was totally in love with the stairs, and all of the marble in there..

This was in the House of Representatives session.. This screen was up in the balcony for us to see, who was voting and if they were voting yes or no.. Very interesting.. I was quite shocked at the start of the session they opened with a prayer, I never thought I would see that there..

School 2010

New school year is here... Love them going back, maybe now we can work on getting a little more peace into our home when they are here... :) I loved spending the summer with them, but I have to admit I am not hating the quiet/non fighting day of just Jade and I... :) I can't believe how fast they grow up.. Bittersweet day... I know they were ready/nervous, but still I hope they had a great day!! Pretty cute kiddos if I say so.. :)

Proud Mama...

As we end another school year, I am so proud of my kiddos.. Like every year the kids have their own personal challenges in various parts of school, but they always press forward and do their best.. That's really all I expect of them.. All of them are so smart, but yet they also each have their own struggles in school.. I love that they are so different, and all excel in different aspects of school.. Glad another year is behind us, (to be honest I am kinda sad too, it means they are growing up too fast..) Looking forward to next year and the challenges and triumphs it will bring to our family... Loving my kids and feeling so proud of them...

Lunch...

Every year the kids have a day at school where the parents can come and eat lunch with them outside on the lawn.. Funny thing about this, in 6 years, this is the first time we have actually got to eat outside on the lawn... Raining every other year... :) Loved it!!

Courtnee's Choir Concert..

Got this video with my still camera, so it's not the best.. This was their final song, a tribute to Queen... It was awesome.. I wanted to get her whole concert but didn't have enough battery.. It was definitely a Rocking place... Queen, Micheal Jackson, Journey, Taylor Swift.... AWWWW.... So proud of Courtnee.. She is one amazing chicky.. She is three rows from the top row, yellow shirt, right in the middle, in front of her instructor, hair all pulled back.. :) Loved spending this night with her..

Recognition..

I love the fact that at the boys' school they recognize every single kid throughout the year, for something academically they have done... I think it really helps build up the kids' self esteem.. I love going to these little ceremonies.. Makes me an even more proud mama... Stockton received his Principal's Pride award for a great job on his Math test.. :) So proud of you S...

Jr High...

I knew this day was coming, and coming too fast for me... Well today it came!!! My once baby girl in grade school, is now a sweet beautiful young woman in Jr. High... We took her to back to school night last night, so she could go to each of her classes, get a feel of her teachers and try to get accustomed to Jr. High.... A lot of the night was just a blur to me, really don't remember much of what any of her teachers said... I sat there and looked at her (marveled really) and thought what an amazing kid she has turned out to be... I know she is going to grow up, I just don't have to love how fast she does it right.. (wink) She did fabulous on her first day, and mom made it through with minimal meltdowns.. A new adventure for us.. :)

Kindergarten...

Well I am happy to say that Cole and I both made it through his first day of Kindergarten. He was so excited to start, but also very nervous... He woke up so full of energy, ready for his first day. He wanted to ride the bus, but I convinced him to let me take him the first day(pictures of course). We had a deal that if he went and was a big boy and didn't cry, he got a pack of Pokemon cards....I think he was way more excited about getting the Pokemon cards than he was about school... He was a little bit sad before we left for school, but was so brave when he went to his class... I told him I would be waiting outside when he got out, so after school he begin to tell me that I lied to him... I said "what do you mean honey, I was outside when you came out just like I told you I would be", and he goes "well when I went outside to recess you were not there!!!" My bad, I guess I should have been a little more clear to him, that I would be there when he was all done with school...Apparently he thought I was just going to sit out there for 3 hours and wait for him.. Silly kid... He did better than I anticipated, and for that I am so proud of him. I know having Courtnee there to look out for him, the rest of the week will be better... :)

Back to School

Our summer has came and gone, way too fast this year. We are officially back to school today. This will be Courtnee's last year in grade school (frown), and it will be Cole's first year in school (another frown). I am glad they will have at least one year together in the same school. Cole doesn't start for another week though and I am already bracing myself for him going. I saw his name on the kindergarten board today when I took the other kids and had a small meltdown. It has been a rough morning for me, and he hasn't even went yet.. :( Here the day I thought I was looking forward to is almost here and I am not sure I am ready.... I will post pics of his first day next week.

Courtnee is starting 6th grade and Stockton 4th. I am so excited for them, they both have awesome teachers this year. Courtnee actually had this same teacher in 3rd grade and now again in 6th and he was just fabulous, and Stockton has the teacher Courtnee had in 4th grade and she is also just as fabulous... I can't tell you how great the year goes by with awesome teachers... So excited.... We are looking forward to another great school year. :)

Wax Museum

The 3rd grade at Stockton's school did a wax museum, and each kid chose someone historical, past or present, to do their project on. After some thought, Stockton chose to do his on Davy Crockett. He did all the reading, research and reporting, and my sweet mom made his costume (she did a fabulous job). It was neat to see all of the different "Wax" figures on display. There was an Abe Lincoln, an Orval Wright (Mack), a Walt Disney, and a few Sacajawea's just to name a few. Just another proud mom moment for me. :)

Pride

Just having a proud mom moment and wanted to share. We went to parent teacher conferences with our two older kids and what a great experience it was. Can I just say how nice it is to hear your kids' teacher's tell you how well behaved they are and how good they are doing in school. It sure makes all of the hard work as a parent worth it. Love days like these. :)

Principal's Pride..

Courtnee was selected this week from her class to receive the Principal's Pride award for excellence in Art. This is an award that is given out each week to a student in each class, in each grade for something awesome they have done at school; writing, art, math, spelling etc... They receive a certificate, have their picture taken with the principal, and their work is displayed in the main hallway for a week. I am so proud of her and wanted to share. Way to go Court. :)

Back to School

It's that time again for early to bed, early to rise, homework, reading, spelling, field trips, school lunches, recess etc. etc. Looking forward to another great school year adventure, with new teachers, new friends and new experiences.
