September 2012

This was Stockton's GRAND birthday! A grand birthday is when you turn the age of the date you were born, so he turned 14 on the 14th. We took all of his friends and cousins to Boondocks for a day of fun! We finished up the night with a steak dinner and a yummy bundt cake. I think it was a great GRAND birthday!

My mom made him this amazing quilt for his birthday. He will be forever grateful to her for it. He loves it so much. She took all of his jerseys from the time he started playing basketball (age 9,) up until that time. She is so beyond amazingly talented when it comes to sewing. I wish I would have gotten some of that talent. I can sew a straight line and that's about it. Thank you mom, you are the best grandma ever!!

My Studebaker...

Hard to believe that I now have 2 teenagers.. Today my Stockton turned 13.. He is such a good kid. He is always making us laugh. His love for basketball is nothing less than admirable.. I love watching him play something with his whole heart.. He is such a great brother to his siblings and a sweet cousin to his cousins. Love that he gets good grades without much nagging from me.. He takes pride in school and his grades, love that about him and Courtnee... I hope Cole and Jaden develop this trait.. :) Just a few pics from his birthday.. Love you buddy, Happy Birthday!!!

Funny....

Troy brought home some ones for Stockton for his birthday, and the second Cole (my money obsessed 7 year old) saw them he says without skipping a beat, "Dad where did you steal all THAT from?" Oh I am still laughing at that one... Too funny that kid is.. He is counting down the days until his birthday when he can get a wad of "stolen" cash... He he he... Oh love the little innocent comments that make my life happy.. :)

The Inevitable...

Well I knew it was bound to happen, but I dreaded the thoughts of it happening to one of my kids.. Stockton broke his wrist on Saturday.. Pretty bad break, clear through the bone and the growth plate, pushing the bone to the other side... He was playing football with one of his friends outside, just fell on it wrong and that was it... I cannot begin to tell you how many times he has fallen in Basketball, but has somehow avoided this... After a quick trip to Instacare (mostly for pain medicine) we were off to Primary... It really killed me to see him in so much pain... I think by the time we reached PCMC he was going into shock.. They were so amazing there, from putting in his IV to feeding him a Gatorade before we left... We were so relieved that he didn't have to have surgery, and that they were able to set it while we were there... They sedated him, set it, wrapped it and he was done.... OK not quite that fast, (6 hours later) but they were awesome.... Now we wait for 10 days for swelling to go down and then we can go get the hard cast on.. His poor little fingers look like sausages today.. :( Poor guy... He is pretty bummed that he is out of Basketball for the season, and possibly next season too.. I know he is a tough kid though, and will bounce right back... Love ya buddy.. Here are some pics I took of our little experience....

The wrist right after it was broken. OUCH!!

So sad, waiting for a room at PCMC. :(

Love this pic, shows his big alligator tears on his cheeks..

Resting, waiting for the Ortho docs...

His wrist, right before they set it..

Waking up from sedation...

A little smile, still sleepy.. :)

His poor little fingers are so swollen too.. :(

Meeting your Idle (well sortof)

Stockton was lucky enough to go downtown (with hundreds of other kids) and meet his idle "D Will"(Deron Williams).... OK he didn't actually meet him as in "hi I'm Stockton" meet him, but for us it was as close as he will ever get to "meet" him so we will just call it that... :) He was so darn excited... His friend actually got to go head to head with D Will and dribble with him.. Nothing is better than a week long permagrin... Love my little basketball star and his passion for the game.. :)

Patiently waiting...

Pretty darn close to him.. (Stock is under his hand)

Taking his turn at dribbling..

Stocks friend going one on one with D Will...

My Stockton...

I can hardly believe that my little Studebaker (a nickname he has had since he was tiny) is 10 today... Where did the time go? My once little blue eyed sweetie Mommy's boy, is still is my blue eyed sweetie but not so much into mom anymore. He is more into basketball, friends, Pokemon, Webkins, more basketball and a little Spongebob here and there.... My favorite things about Stockton are...
1- His sweet spirit, he really does have a heart of gold.
2- He is kind to everyone, even when sometimes he doesn't want to be.
3- Loves to try new things, basketball was a new adventure for us, but he took the plunge and now is addicted to it...
4- He never gives up, tries til the end..
5- Still loves giving his mom hugs and kisses...(I treasure this cause I am not sure how long this will last)
6- Loves his siblings, especially Jaden, and Jaden sure loves his Stockton. And for the most part is really good to them... (Although some days I wonder about him and Cole, will they ever "love" each other???)
7- Can get along with pretty much anyone, just adapts himself to whatever situation he is in.
8- His heartbreaking eyes.. Need I say more???
9- Listening to him sing in the shower, could be in the opera some day (he he he).. (I don't think he even realizes I listen.. :)
10- His love for school, Littlefoot, the out of doors, shooting, hunting, playing video games and his family.... I hope he will always love learning new things and continue to excel in all his does... :)
I love you Stockton and hope you have the best birthday ever, you are truly a blessing to our family...

A picture from his Birthday party...What a bunch of heart breakers, wouldn't ya say?

The Bike

All Stockton wanted for his birthday was a new bike, and since his Troy is going to be gone for his birthday, he wanted to get him one before he left. He had fun trying them all out in the store, but finally settled on this one.
